In addition, you have Diversion, which has more niche applications since it doesn’t work on every fight, but it is incredibly helpful when there are a lot of adds that need to be dealt with. Gunslinger in general offers exceptional group utility, largely thanks to Scrambling Field, which is the only raid buff in the game that is focused entirely on defense.
SWTOR GUNSLINGER SHARPSHOOTER ROTATION FULL
The rotation itself is fairly easy, though you will have your hands full with optimally placing Incendiary Grenade and XS Freighter Flyby as well as having to adjust your rotation on the fly when you need to reapply Shock Charge. In terms of single-target DPS, Sabo isn’t topping the charts, but it’s still perfectly viable. If you manage to hit a single target with 4 out of the 5 bombs, you’ll deal about as much damage as similar movement abilities like Mad Dash and Force Leap. They also deal a little bit of damage when using their roll, it’s still pretty weak and requires proper positioning, but that’s better than nothing. Sabo has the best mobility of any of the Gunslinger specs since all of its abilities can be activated while moving, except for Speed Shot, though Hunker Down still prevents them from being as mobile as any of the other ranged DPS classes. Don’t get me wrong, Saboteur is still perfectly capable and fully viable for the vast majority of fights in the game, and while you will definitely have a harder time than you would with the other two specs, it’s still completely fine to play it for fun, just be aware that you will occasionally have to switch specs. Furthermore, Dirty Fighting is stronger in just about every way, so there really isn’t a need to ever actually play Sabo in particular. This doesn’t mean that Saboteur isn’t viable if the boss moves, it just means that the movement needs to be slow or infrequent enough that almost all of your ticks will hit the boss. In order for the ability to deal damage, the boss must remain within 8m of the Incendiary Grenade for the full duration. This viability issue primarily stems from the fact that one of Sabo’s strongest abilities, Incendiary Grenade, is a 9 second AoE DoT that gets placed on the ground. If you are only willing or able to learn a single spec, you need to pick a different one.
